1 skirt, 3 ways!

It's easy to underestimate the basics... like a black pencil skirt! I have tons of cute tops and dresses, but very few "business bottoms."

I had an interview for a big girl job the other day... and I was baffled with what to wear! My classic suit was at home and the attire at the office was business casual. I wanted to fit in, look cute but also look pulled together.

I thought about buying a whole new outfit, and then I stumbled across something at Target that made my day: the simple, black pencil skirt.

A wardrobe classic that I just happened to be missing! It'd be perfect- I could wear it with almost any color and any top.

I thought I'd share my frugal find and some of the outfits I tried on for my interview! I ended up choosing a peach blouse similar to the dotted blouse.

Plus, there are SO many more outfits you could create with this... add a blazer, a button down or a simple top with a statement necklace. I can't believe this was missing from my wardrobe!

Kate Spade for Keds

I'm not the biggest fan of sneakers. In fact, if you pretend my Chuck Taylor phase didn't happen I've basically never worn them.

Now, I like tennis shoes. Actually, a lot. They're so comfy! I just feel like I look stumpy and I can never get them to go with my outfits!

But then... Kate Spade announced she was partnering with Keds. Known for their classic canvas "Champion," they have been loved since 1916 by celebrities such as Audrey Hepburn, Mischa Barton and Taylor Swift.

While I kind of think Keds make my feet look like almonds, I have to have a pair of these. Finally, my prayers have been answered! Cute tennies!

I simply adore the white with black polka dots. I love polka dots and I especially love pairing them with stripes - mostly because I can mix patterns without looking like I'm mixing patterns.

I've already dreamed up a few outfits... a casual, hanging-out with friends outfit and a business-y, casual Friday outfit!

Baby it's cold outside!

It's getting to be the chilly months in Atlanta! While our Decembers feel like most autumns, our really cold months are January and February.

Luckily, this means a short winter! However, it's hard to dress cute when the wind is blowing and it's raining sideways!

These are my go-to pieces for brisk weather! I've found pieces for this collection all over- Old NavyMarley Lilly, TJMaxx, Lilly Pulitzer and more! You can find all of these pieces at a department store, from Target to Bloomies!
